Services: Mastering
I've been mastering CD's for 12 years in a wide range of styles for Indie and Major Label clients like
Sony, BMG, Windham Hill and Motown. I know that a different approach is needed for different styles.
My first step in Mastering is to talk with you and get a sense of what you want your project to
sound like. I request that you give me mastered CDs to use as reference.This will help me to
understand what we're shooting for more than words alone can convey.
The goal in Mastering is to adjust the tonal quality and volume of each track so that the
individual mixes flow evenly from one to another and feel cohesive as a whole.
Let me help you take this final step!
- Clean up unwanted track noise and make smooth "in and out" fades.
- Listen to all tracks and notate differences in level and EQ.
- Apply EQ, compression and level changes etc.
- Set up the spacing between all songs.
- Final check of EQ and level between tracks.
- Insert program information and ISRC codes.
- Apply "finalization compression" and run "Master CD file."
- Print out J Card, CD label, disc documentation and assemble Master CD.
